Consultation

Are dentures suitable for everyone?

Dentures are suitable for many people with extensively damaged, decayed or missing teeth, and particularly for people with existing dentures. Your suitability will be assessed during a consultation.

How long does the denture process take?

The duration varies based on the complexity of the case. Typically, the process spans several appointments, including initial consultation, design and fabrication, fitting, and follow-up care. If these are your first set of dentures, you may also need dental work or extractions to eliminate other dental disease and create a solid, healthy foundation to support your new dentures. If you have existing dentures, you won’t be left without dentures to use tk unless your gums need time to heal from damage.

Are dentures painful?

Dentures should not be painful, however any new set of dentures will likely take time to become familiar and comfortable. Any initial discomfort can be resolved in follow-up appointments.

How do I care for my dentures?

Maintain good oral hygiene practices, for your remaining teeth, including regular brushing and flossing. Clean your dentures regularly with a denture brush, or a specialist denture cleaning paste, and deep-clean once a day by soaking in denture cleaning solution. Attend scheduled dental check-ups to monitor the health and condition of your gums, dentures and remaining teeth.

Are dentures covered by insurance?

Coverage varies depending on your insurance provider and policy. Verify the extent of coverage with your insurance company. Our friendly reception team can assist you in navigating insurance-related questions.
